Ray of Hope is fundraising $3,600 ($900 x 4 months) to defray the living expenses for Mdm Zabaniah’s family while she seeks employment. The funds raised will help the single mother who is in a very difficult situation now.

Ray of Hope previously assisted Mdm Zabaniah when her husband passed away in February 2021 after a fatal asthma attack. It has not been easy to step out of her grief from losing her husband, who was a caring father to their children, the family’s sole breadwinner and, most importantly, her pillar of strength.

Since her husband’s passing, the 34 year-old has been supporting her family single-handedly. With a nett salary of $2,100 as an infant care teacher, Mdm Zabaniah is supporting her three children, as well as her son’s fiancée who is 7 months pregnant.

“There’s no one for me to lean on since my husband left us. It has been difficult trying to move on”, Mdm Zabaniah shared with the caseworkers.

Unfortunately, Mdm Zabaniah lost her job in early June. As she feels that it was an unfair dismissal, she will be seeking legal advice on that matter. With many dependents to care for, Mdm Zabaniah has been under immense stress, especially with her sudden loss of employment. Two of her children also suffer from severe asthma and were hospitalised in May and June.
