Life is a constant struggle for the family

Madam Zabaniah, 30 years old, is a strong mother to her three children, aged 15, 6 and 5 months old. The family of five used to put up at their relatives’ homes prior to renting a one-room flat of their own. However, owning a flat to call their own did not mark an end to their problems. More issues surfaced as Madam Zabaniah’s husband collapsed from severe asthma and was forced to resign from his employment, where he was working as a sub-contract worker and was able to support his family with the income that he was drawing.

Give Hope to Madam Zabaniah

Madam Zabaniah’s two older children also suffer from fatal asthma. Her daughter is currently hospitalized for an asthma attack she had recently. Although Madam Zabaniah hopes to put up a brave front for her children, she told us that she is constantly under tremendous stress, not knowing who will be the next in the family to succumb to asthma. The fact that her husband is currently still unfit for work means that there is no income for the family until he has fully recovered and is able to return to work. Madam Zabaniah used to work as a part-time driver right until her baby was due, and she hopes to return to work as soon as her baby is settled into infant care.

Financial Breakdown

Madam Zabaniah’s public financial assistance of $480 ends this month, and there will be a processing time before her renewal is processed. ROHI would, therefore, like to raise $1,480 ($370 x 4 months) to defray part of Madam Zabaniah’s expenses for her two older children’s pocket money allowances ($220) and groceries expenses ($150).
