Due to COVID-19, Mdm Ng, who has been visiting Lions Befrienders Senior Activity Centre for the past 6 years, now cannot meet her friends at the centre. She is confined, alone in her rented unit with very limited movement. Mdm Ng is just one of the 6,000 we are serving island wide, who is facing this very difficult times.

“a 86-year-old woman, who is single and living alone, attempted suicide by overdosing on pills. She was saved in time by a friend who regularly checked on her,” said Lions Befrienders Chairman, Mr Anthony Tay “she was depressed by her declining health, but the enforced isolation made it worse. We have since referred her to a nursing home”

Help us to Help the most Vulnerable Elderly overcome COVID-19 Today, for 6,000 at-risk Elderly! Your giving will enable us to provide food rations of the essential items, customized programmes and activities during and post extended COVID-19 Circuit Breaker period. Together, we can restore their active, healthy and happy lives in our community.

Lions Befrienders provides integrated eldercare services to 6,000 at-risk seniors, from preventive to intervention through holistic programmes, including social, emotional, mental and physical, to improve their quality of life. Your contributions also enable us to relentlessly reach out to the isolated elderly in our community..

1. Activity Pack for 6,000 seniors/month: S$90,000
   $15/senior. Deliver programmes and activities  to 6,000 seniors, so that seniors can continue to be mentally active in the comfort of their own home, and to have a sense of achievement. E.g., Colouring materials, puzzles sets, origami paper, DIY gardening set. 
2. Essential Dry Food Ration for 6,000 seniors/month: S$90,000
   $15/senior. Provide essential food ration for our seniors to live healthily
3. Engage essential services for 6,000 seniors: S$20,000
   Engage essential services to protect and ensure safe and healthy living spaces of our 6000 at-risk seniors E.g., bed bug fumigation, disinfecting cleaning services, medical escort services, handyman services, delivery services

Total: $200,000

Donations of $50 and above will be eligible for Tax Deduction. Lions Befrienders will contact you with your tax deduction receipt at a later date.

Established in 1995, LB has more than 25 years of experience in befriending and caring for seniors in order for them to age in place in the community. LB strives to address the varied needs of more than 20,000 seniors by adopting a senior-centric approach in its eldercare services.
