22-year-old Nurul is a single mother to a 2-year old daughter. She laments the increased hardships she may face soon as she is also 5 weeks pregnant. With both her parents divorced, her only pillar of familial comfort comes from her elderly grandmother, who is in her 70s. She is not in regular contact with her mother, and her father works as a cleaner only to support himself.

Nurul has made plans to marry her fiancé who works as a dishwasher. The couple is currently relying on social assistance to make ends meet. Nurul is also actively seeking employment in the hope that it will allow them to better care for her daughter, an upcoming new-born, and to free herself from troubling her ailing grandmother.

Ray of Hope is raising $2,000 to help Nurul with the following while she applies for childcare subsidies for her daughter’s school fees:

1. Childcare fees before subsidies – $600 x 2 months
2. Milk and diapers – $200 x 4 months
