34-year-old Mdm Zaleha is a single mother to five children. Two of her children were diagnosed with ADHD at a very young age. Mdm Zaleha also suffers from depression and anxiety. Despite her current challenging circumstances, Mdm Zaleha hopes to achieve financial independence and wants to give her children the very best in life. However, her mental health condition has made it challenging and she was subsequently deemed unfit for employment till February 2022. 

Ray of Hope would like to raise $2,000.00 to help Mdm Zaleha with the following expenses: 

1. Her children’s school supplies: $400 ($80 x 5 children)
2. Living expenses: $1,600 ($400 x 4 months)

Mdm Zaleha* is a 34-year-old mother to 5 children between the ages of 5 to 13. Most of her children suffer from severe asthma and her second and fourth child suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Mdm Zaleha herself suffers from depression and anxiety. It has not been an easy journey for her, battling depression and anxiety and at the same time looking after 5 children herself.

Previously, Ray of Hope has assisted Mdm Zaleha to apply working as a taxi driver. After working for a month, Mdm Zaleha had to stop employment as it was affecting her mental health significantly. She was subsequently deemed unfit for employment till February 2022. As a single mother, all the caregiving and financial responsibilities have fallen solely on her. The family is now reliant on financial assistance by the government to get by each day. 

While life has been extremely difficult for Mdm Zaleha, she is a nurturing and loving mother. 

“My kids’ needs are my number one priority. Despite my condition, they have been very supportive and helpful at home. I hope I can give them the life they deserve soon.” shared Mdm Zaleha. She hopes to return back to the workforce in order to fully support her 5 children once she feels better.

*Mdm Zaleha is currently receiving government financial assistance. However, her assistance is ending in December 2021.

*Expenses for school supplies will be given in a form of vouchers.
