Mdm Yati, 48 years old, is a single mother to her two daughters, 16 and 11. She is also caring for her younger sister’s 17-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter. When the caseworkers met Mdm Yati, she shared that she has been battling with multiple health issues including asthma, high blood pressure and low white blood cell count.

Since her divorce many years back, Mdm Yati has never received maintenance for the children from her ex-husband. With her ailing health, Mdm Yati is able unable to engage in full-time employment as she often feels breathless, light-headed and lethargic. She also told us how with three teenage children, she often feels helpless as she is unable to work to put food on the table for the children
