Ray of Hope is fundraising $2,250 ($450 x 5 months) to defray Mdm Rozita’s living expenses. The funds will give hope to the single mum who needs assistance during this difficult period.

Mdm Rozita, 57, lives with her 14 year-old son in a two-room rental flat. In March 2022, Mdm Rozita’s husband passed away from colon cancer. It was a huge blow for Mdm Rozita and her son. Their grief is compounded by the family’s sudden loss of income. The family of 3 was entirely dependent on the income of Mdm Rozita’s husband, who worked as a gardener.

In 2007, Mdm Rozita was diagnosed with depression and hyperthyroidism. She also suffers from other chronic conditions such as high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension and asthma. She has been certified unfit for work for a year, until October 2022.

Her husband’s death and her own medical condition have made daily life very challenging for Mdm Rozita. She has difficulty moving around unassisted and her son has become her main caregiver. At times he skips school to care for Mdm Rozita, or to bring her for medical appointments.

Mdm Rozita is pulling through and continues to seek help to put food on the table for her child.
