Ray of Hope is raising $2,500 ($500 x 5 months) to help Mdm Rad with her grocery expenses.

Mdm Rad is the sole breadwinner. She supports her bedridden husband, 91 year-old mother and three children aged between 18 to 23.

Mdm Rad has experienced multiple setbacks in life. Her husband has dementia and suffered two strokes in 2018 and in 2020 which rendered him unfit for work. Her 8 siblings provide minimal support for their wheelchair-bound mother, who is being cared for by Mdm Rad.

Working as a carpark administrator for over 20 years, Mdm Rad is the only person in her household who earns a steady income. A huge part of her salary ($1700 per month) goes towards medical bills (hers and her spouse’s), household needs, as well as their youngest daughter’s education which, after subsidies, comes to around $80/month. Her eldest son is in National Service, with a child to support and a new baby on the way. Her middle son is waiting to be enlisted for National Service. Neither is able to contribute much to the household expenses.
