Ray of Hope is raising $3,060 ($510 x 6 months) to help Mdm Jaleha with her groceries and transport.

For Mdm Jaleha, 63 and her husband, 60, life has not been very kind to them. 

Mdm Jaleha used to work as a cooking assistant while her husband was previously a barber. However, as she now suffers thyroid, heart and back problems, Mdm Jaleha can no longer stand or walk like she used to. Whenever she is required to leave the house, she uses her motorized wheelchair to get around. Her husband too, struggles to be mobile as he suffers from knee pain. He also fell into depression 8 years ago and has not worked since

They both suffer poor mobility due to their existing conditions and find much difficulty even in getting around the house. They live with their youngest daughter, 29, in a  2-room rental flat. She is also their main caregiver.

 The elderly couple relies heavily on their youngest daughter to not only provide caregiving, but also to meet their basic needs. She is unable to work full-time due to her caregiving duties to her parents. However, she gets her friend to look after them several days in a week while she would work part-time as a delivery rider. As such, the family of 3 depend on their daughter’s daily earnings for sustenance. With costs of living rising and medical bills piling, Mdm Jaleha and her family are barely surviving.
