Mdm Faziahna is a single mum to her four school-going children aged 16, 8, 6, and 4. She had worked as an office cleaner until March this year but lost her job when the COVID-19 circuit breaker measures came in place. The single mum is actively looking for a new job, but having completed only Primary 5 education just made things a lot harder for her.
The resilient mum has almost no family support and does not have any contact with her two older siblings after her parents were separated. She now relies on her social assistance of $490, which ends in October 2020, as well as the $160 maintenance that she receives from her ex-husband. For the past few months, Mdm Faziahna also took on home-baking orders to sustain some income for her children’s school expenses and to put food on the table for her children.
Ray of Hope is raising $2000 to defray Mdm Faziahna’s groceries ($400 x 5 months) while she looks for employment. Please donate to give hope to the single mum!
