Mdm Faridah, 40 years old, is a mother of a 6-year-old daughter. Mdm Faridah is currently awaiting her daughter’s enrollment into a primary school next year. She was working as a cleaner in Malaysia but lost her job when the government closed the borders between the two countries. Currently, she is actively looking for a new job, but having completed only ‘O’ Levels education made things a lot harder for her. In addition, she is only able to be employed once her daughter starts school as no one is currently available to care for her.

The strong mother has almost no family support as her family lives in Malaysia and is not in close contact with her. She now relies on her social assistance of $260, which ends in October 2020. Mdm Faridah hopes to gain employment before her daughter enrolls in primary school as she wants to save up for her daughter’s school expenses.

Ray of Hope would like to raise $2,250 to help Mdm Faridah and her daughter tide over these difficult times. $450 per month for 5 months will help them with their living expenses while she looks for employment before her daughter starts school.
