Ray of Hope previously assisted Mdm. Chua with her family’s groceries and living expenses. When the caseworkers met Mdm. Chua again this year, they were updated that Mdm. Chua’s husband who works as a kitchen assistant has suffered a $500 pay cut. Mdm. Chua also took on several ad-hoc jobs to support the family, despite struggling with several medical conditions herself. Mdm. Chua is currently on several follow-ups for orthopaedic issues, kidney stones and depression.

All of Mdm. Chua’s five children (22, 17, 10, 9 and 7) also suffer from various medical conditions, unfortunately. With every one in the family suffering from health issues, the 42-year-old, who is also the main caregiver for her family, could not stop worrying about the family’s financial situation. The family will be looking at alternative employment plans after their next medical review in May.

Ray of Hope would like to raise $3,900 ($780 x 5 months) to help defray Mdm. Chua’s expenses for the following:

• Food & Sundry – $500 per month
• Transport – $280 per month
