Mdm Lakshimi is a mother of two sons aged 6 and 4. She was working as a customer care officer and earned close to $2,800 a month. Unfortunately, she could not continue with her employment since her husband’s health deteriorated in 2019. Mdm Lakshimi’s husband suffers from neurological issues as well as severe panic disorder.

Since stopping work, Mdm Lakshimi has been relying on her savings which are depleting as her husband is currently incarcerated. Her caregiving duties also makes it difficult for her to gain full-time employment. However, that does not deter Mdm Lakshimi from finding employment as she has since taken on ad-hoc jobs to sustain an income for her children. Mdm Lakshimi’s older son is on follow-up for non-compliant and impulsive behaviours and aggressive tantrums. Her younger son is on follow-up for right renal pelviectasis.
