Joanne lives together with her husband, 3 children and 2 year-old grandson in a two-room HDB rental flat. Joanne’s husband suffers from a chronic heart disease and has underwent 4 major surgeries with 2 stents and 3 balloons. Currently, his heart functionality is below 15%. Hence, he has to take multiple medications and was declared permanently unfit for work by the doctor. Joanne was told that her husband’s condition has worsened over the years and his heart may stop beating at any moment.

Joanne used to work as a cleaner earning S$600 per month. However, due to her husband’s declining health, she stopped working to care for him and the children at home. Joanne is no longer in contact with any of her siblings. Hence, she has no family members to turn to for help.

Joanne is currently receiving financial assistance from MUIS but her SSO application for financial assistance is still pending.

Ray of Hope would like to raise $2,500 to help Joanne and her family for 5 months. $500 a month will help defray her family’s living expenses and utility bills.
