Jessica is a promising 15-year-old Singaporean with little family support. Since birth, she was cared for by her paternal family and her natural mother remained uninvolved in caregiving until her father passed away in 2013. Jessica returned to her mother’s care, until incidents of neglect resulting in the lack of supervisor occurred.
Since 2015, Jessica had been assigned to various Interim homes and shelters out of safety concerns. After her mother remarried in 2019, Jessica was staying with her, but was eventually removed from her home after alleged incidents of inappropriate physical contact by her step-father were reported. Jessica has been doing well in Secondary School and has continued to participate actively in her school activities. Over 2021, Jessica has been assigned various leadership roles within her school’s student council and CCA (Modern Dance). In the student council, she was also selected to lead school programmes such as youth day and national day.……
