The Accident
On the 19th of October 2019 at approximately 9.30am, Mr Antony suffered a stroke at his dormitory. Due to the stroke he fell to the ground and he was only discovered by a friend 15 minutes later. He was rushed to the hospital where he spent 3 days in ICU and was only discharged on the 8th of November. Due to his stroke, Mr Antony is no longer able to lift up his left hand and his walking is impaired. He will also not be receiving any Work Injury Compensation as his stroke was not due to a work-related injury.
Mr Antony has returned home on the 19th of November 2019. Mr Antony was one of the very few injured migrant workers that had a kind employer. After his discharge his employer took good care of him including hiring a caregiver to look after his needs.
