Mdm Farah and her husband live in a 3 room flat with their 3 school-going children. She has been diagnosed with Stage 2 Colon Cancer and is undergoing treatment. She has been under review at SGH since 2014 and had major surgery in 2017 after the diagnosis of her cancer. She is going to be put on a stoma bag, and if it is to burst, her cancer would have progressed to Stage 3. She has a follow up every 6 months and a yearly scope.

Her husband used to work as a sales assistant but recently left his job claiming to be bullied by his employers. He shared that his employers would not give him breaks during fasting month and blamed him for everything. He used to earn $1,300 nett per month but his last drawn salary was just over $20 after being prorated and deducted by the employer.

Mdm Farah’s family were receiving SSO support of $950 per month, but that ended in April.

With 3 young children, their bills are high, even with the Financial Assistance provided by MOE. With Mdm Farah unable to work, their CPF is running low for their home payments. Her husband is actively seeking new employment.

Ray of Hope would like to raise $1,200 ($400 x 3 months) to help Mdm Farah and her family with their living expenses until her husband is able to find new employment. He is actively seeking employment, but the current Circuit Breaker measures makes it more difficult.
