Ray of Hope simply cannot thank you enough for your invaluable contribution to helping Chris with his EEG and osteopath treatment previously! Since his EEG and osteopath sessions, his parents noticed that it has helped with Chris’s pre-seizures and self-harm behaviours.

According to Chris’s psychologist, Christ needs to attend a special school on a daily basis and one that can manage and address his developmental challenges. Recently, his parents has enrolled him in a new school offering a new modality of therapy called Relationship Development Intervention (RDI). In view that Chris is not a Singapore Citizen or Permanent
Resident, he is not eligible for many of the local special schools. Therefore, the next best option is to explore the private special schools or centres.

Chris has recently started RDI and after just 1 week at school, the family is already seeing a big positive shift in his behaviour. Chris is so much happier and have a better sense of connection with himself, surroundings and people. However, the cost of such therapy is very costly for his parents. The family has tried different therapies, and RDI is the therapy that has delivered the biggest and fastest results thus far.

Thank you dear donors for helping defray costs for treatments for Chris.

We have been faithfully going to the osteopath sessions but the latter sessions did not seem to help him. In our quest to find help for Chris, we have also started going to another doctor at IHC since last year. We have done the EEG with this doctor in October 2020 and saw all the paroxysmal activities in his brain (which are painful pre-seizures). After this EEG, we embarked on a treatment plan with this IHC clinic.

We started only 16th of December 2020 and to date, we have seen very big improvements. The most notable of all are: 90% less self harming and tantrums as well as a generally happier and calmer disposition. As we were able to help heal the brain inflammation, these have been stopping the pre-seizures. We are also more secure in this treatment as we can see the results and part of the plan is to do EEG to monitor every 6 months (to ensure the seizures are at bay).
