Ray of Hope is raising $3,000 ($500 x 6 months) to help Thangaiyan Chandrasekar with his and his family’s living expenses.

Thangaiyan Chandresekar came to Singapore in November 2019. He was a general worker in the marine sector, earning approximately $300 a month. Thangaiyan was in his 4th month of work when a massive metallic fixture crushed his left arm. At that time, Chandrasekar on his usual cleaning duty. He was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a severe bone fracture.

Chandrasekar supports his parents and a younger brother back home in India. His father needs approximately $50 a month for medication to manage diabetes. His younger brother is a driver and earns approximately $140 a month. Chandrasekar has existing loans of approximately $7500, which were taken to pay the agent for securing Chandrasekar’s job in Singapore.

Chandrasekar is unable to lift heavy objects, which affects daily living and his employment situation as he cannot work. He is currently awaiting compensation (which is not guaranteed) for his permanent injury and needs help with his own and his family’s living expenses in the interim.
