We plan to devote most of the funding to venue as it is difficult to source for such funding. Investment into these key areas will help to streamline the operations within Cahaya, forming the foundations for us to expand. As for programmatic costs, we will continue to seek sustainable sources of funds from external partners and grants.
The HQ will be used to support 2 main pillars of our growth strategy
- Depth: We intend to improve our existing programmes and bring a suite of core programmes to all our communities to increase the depth of our service. Currently, while our flagship mentorship programme is offered to all the 4 communities we serve, some of our extracurricular programmes are not offered at the respective communities due to the varying interest and resource constraints.
- Support: To sustain our programmes, stable and adequate manpower would be critical. The team intends to hire full-time staff to ensure the smooth running of our operations.
Funding:
1. Venue $550/mth for 2.5 years
2. Total Sum: $16,500
About Cahaya Community
Cahaya Community is a registered charity that takes on a holistic perspective towards social support. The organisation is run by young, vibrant volunteers who believe in placing the community at the very centre of all they do. We believe in the boundless potential of the children and families. As of 2022, we have engaged nearly 100 children across 4 communities. The demographics of our beneficiaries are low-income families engaged through our outreach efforts, formal referrals by grassroots leaders, Family Service Centres (FSCs) as well as Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) like Beyond Social Services, as well as word of mouth referrals from existing beneficiaries.
Cahaya takes a strength-based and developmental approach in working with families and children in their journey to realise their boundless potential.
