Husband met with a horrific accident
Mr Muhamad, 48 years old, suffered a severe motorbike accident on the 13th of July 2018. He was hospitalised for more than 2 weeks and suffered horrific injuries. Till today, nearly 2 years since the accident, Mr Muhamad has been unable to work. He underwent further operation recently to further correct his leg and toes and is medically unfit for work until June this year. His wife, Mdm Anita, 41 years old, is unable to work as she is her husband’s caregiver. Both Mr Muhamad and Mdm Anita used to work however, ever since the accident, neither has been unable to work.
Struggles of the family – Children with various disabilities
The couple has 8 children between the ages of 6 – 19 years old. Their 14-year-old twins suffer from optic neuropathy which causes blurring, distorted vision, reduced colour vision and pain in the eyes. Her 11-year-old son suffers from dyslexia and learning difficulties.
The couple is currently receiving government financial assistance however, with 8 children to feed and look after, a husband that is still recuperating from various operations and 3 children with various disabilities, the family is currently facing tremendous stress.
