Ray of Hope is raising $4,020 ($670 x 6 months) to help Angela with expenses. Her younger son suffers from VACTERL Association, a disorder that affects many body systems. The funds raised will be disbursed in the form of FairPrice vouchers, to defray the expenses for her younger son’s milk, diapers, wipes and sterile gauze.

Ray of Hope previously assisted Angela. The 44 year-old is the mother of two sons, aged 8 and 4. Her younger son was diagnosed with VACTERL Association (vertebral defects, anal atresia, cardiac defects, tracheo-esophageal fistula, renal anomalies, and limb abnormalities) at birth. He also has lung and kidney issues, and is fully reliant on milk and other supplementary diets as he is unable to consume solid food.

After resigning from her job, Angela has devoted all her time to caring for both children. She is financially dependent on her husband, a chef. His income of approximately $2600 covers some of the household bills. However, they are estranged and he is not involved in their children’s caregiving. Over the years, the couple has incurred debts of approximately $10,000 with banks and will apply for debt advisory with Credit Counselling Singapore.

In addition to caring for her sons, Angela also looks after her 66 year-old mother who suffers from dementia and her 72 year-old father who is a stroke patient.

Angela herself is in constant pain, which has spread from her back, to her legs and joints.
