33-year-old struggles to bring up 5 children after husband walks out
An Unexpected Struggle
33-year-old Madam Hayati and her family were staying in a 1-room rental flat. Despite the small space that they had to call their home, the family was contented with what they had. Mdm Hayati’s husband (32 years old) who is working as a full-time security officer with a gross income of S$1,300 did his best to support the family. Mdm Hayati’s two oldest sons (15 and 14) were from her previous marriage, and she has three children (8, 4 & 3) with her current husband.

4th disbursement
Mdm Hayati has received the funds from Ray of Hope for this month. She also told us that she has been selling some cookies and kueh for additional income to help with the family’s expenses, and has received good responses for her bakes.

3rd Disbursement
Mdm Hayati has received the third disbursement from ROH. When the case workers visited her, she told us that while things are stabilizing at home, but it would not have been possible without the funds raised to help her tide through the expenses. She also updated us that her children are doing well in school.

2nd disbursement
Mdm Hayati has received her second disbursement from us. She is immensely thankful for the donations that came through to her family which have been helpful. Thank you donors for giving hope to Mdm Hayati who is also the main caregiver to her 5 children!

1st disbursement
The case workers were recently updated that Mdm Hayati’s husband has returned home about two weeks ago. He has also resumed paying part of the family’s household expenses. The funds raised are helpful in defraying some of Mdm Hayati’s household expenses.
