The Struggle
39-year-old Noraisah, who used to work as an adjunct secondary school teacher with an income of $1,200 per month, faced her first obstacle when her contract was not converted to full-time employment. This not only meant unemployment, it also marked the start of the increased living arrears that she now needs to shoulder.

The cheque for Noraisah has been handed to her last week. She updated us that earlier on, she found employment and was working for a month in a childcare, until she was forced to resign after facing issues with the management of the school and receiving unfair treatment. Noraisah also updated us that her family……

The case workers met Noraisah for her first cheque disbursement. She is thankful to the Ray of Hope donors for reaching out to her family when they are in need. She told us that the money will go towards her family’s groceries expenses while she looks for a job.
