Jessica is a promising 15-year-old Singaporean with little family support. Since birth, she was cared for by her paternal family and her natural mother remained uninvolved in caregiving until her father passed away in 2013. Jessica returned to her mother’s care, until incidents of neglect resulting in the lack of supervisor occurred.

Since 2015, Jessica had been assigned to various Interim homes and shelters out of safety concerns. After her mother remarried in 2019, Jessica was staying with her, but was eventually removed from her home after alleged incidents of inappropriate physical contact by her step-father were reported. She has been staying in a shelter since, and receives regular counselling support from her caseworkers at the shelter.

Like her peers, Jessica hopes to do well in life. She is currently an active member of her school council  and she aspires to take pursue further education in Nursing after she completes her secondary education. Ray of Hope wishes to raise $3,000 ($1,000 x 3 months) to support Jessica, and the funds raised will cover:

1. Meals: $450
2. Counselling and Therapy: $300 (after subsidy)
3. Utilities and daily care: $150
4. School and necessities: $100
