Swapan, aged 37, was employed as a general worker in the shipyard industry earning around $1,500 per month. He came to Singapore in 2010 after paying an agent fee of $2,000 in hopes of a better quality of life for his family in Bangladesh. He worked for seven days a week, for 8 to 10 hours a day. The long hours of hard work allowed Swapan to remit back around $1,200 for his family’s living expenses. However, the sole breadwinner had to stop working after he met with a workplace related accident on the 1st of May 2018.

An update on Swapan
Dear donors Thank you for donating towards helping Swapan. Swapan has returned to Bangladesh in June 2021. Ray of Hope has already fully disbursed the amount raised to Swapan.
