Ray of Hope has previously assisted Mdm Azura*. We raised S$241 to purchase an electronic tablet installed with TouchChat technology to help her son, Haziq*, verbalise his thoughts and feelings. Haziq has Autism and is enrolled in the early intervention programme in a special needs school. Next year, Haziq will be enrolled in a new school as a Primary One student.

Mdm Azura is a loving mother to her 6-year-old son and tries to provide him with the best that she is able to afford.  She works as an executive and is currently the sole breadwinner of the household.

In August 2020, Mdm Azura’s husband started expressing violent behaviours towards her over trivial matters that upset him. She eventually filed for a divorce for the safety of her own son and herself. Since then, raising a child with a disability alone was never an easy journey for Mdm Azura. Even before the divorce, she was the main breadwinner, and most of the financial burden falls onto her. Besides, she is not eligible for any financial assistance or subsidies due to her salary income. Hence, she finds it difficult to support her son alone and is under immense stress.

Ray of Hope is fundraising S$3,681.10 to help with Haziq’s school fees.

• $888 to Haziq’s childcare directly
• S$1,500 (S$250 x 6 months) will be used to pay for his school fees next year
