Mdm Suriani is a single mother of 4. She lives in a 1 room rental flat with her 2 younger sons (both below the age of 2). Her 2 older daughters (aged 15 and 21 live with her mother). Mdm Suriani is pending a divorce from her second husband as a result of the physical and verbal abuse she has suffered.

She currently has both a Personal Protection Order (PPO) and a Child Protection Order (CPO) against her husband. He was arrested in June after he started throwing things at her when she turned down his request to give her a massage. The incidents of abuse date back to November 2019 when she first filed a police report against her husband.

Mdm Suriani is unable to work as she is the main caregiver for her two young sons. She is being supported by SSO until October and by MUIS until November this year. The support is just enough to cover all her monthly expenses including sending a monthly sum to support her mother and 2 daughters. Mdm Suriani is aware of a loan that her husband was handling, but is not sure of the amount she has to cover.

She is currently looking for a job as she wants to support her family more. She will also be placing her young sons in infant and child care once she is able to secure a job. As we all know, the economy is struggling and it won’t be easy for her to find a job, but she is hopeful. She wants to do better for her family and stand on her own two feet.

Ray of Hope would like to raise $1,600 for Mdm Suriani and her family. $400 a month for 4 months will help her with her milk powder and diaper costs. These are essential daily items for her sons. We hope that Mdm Suriani will be able to find employment soon.
