David stopped working in 2017 due to health complications. He suffers from Diabetes and has had several complications on his feet as a result. He underwent a below-the-knee amputation in 2017. David also suffers from Heart and Urology issues and visits the doctor regularly.
David’s wife is unable to work as she has taken over the role of the primary caregiver of their two younger children. She hopes to start looking for employment soon, but it may take some time due to the economic constraints of the Covid-19 situation. She has recently received her PR status and is hopeful of finding employment.
David has adopted both of his wife’s older children but they remain as Filipino nationals on student visa, however, the school has approved their appeal to pay PR student fees as of this year. David and his family are receiving support from other organisations as well as SSO, but are unable to keep up with the tuition fees at ITE due to their previous foreign student status. They have accumulated arrears and with no stable income, David and his family are not able to clear the past dues and worry that their children may have to stop school.
Ray of Hope would like to raise $13,595 for David and his family. This amount will be used to pay off the arrears for their eldest daughter ($4,871.25) and upcoming school fees for their son ($3.029.25 x 3 terms left = $9,087.75). This will be paid directly to ITE.
