June shared that her husband suffers from mood disorder and anger management issues, and is abusive. She recalled an incident when he allegedly threw hard objects at her leg in a rage. Despite being financially dependent on him, June decided to file a Personal Protection Order (PPO) against him.
Shortly after they were married, June was diagnosed with depression and schizophrenia. She also suffers from cholesterol, arthritis, joint pain and a minor heart condition.
June has a rocky relationship with her mother-in-law. This tension has adversely affected June’s relationship with her son.
According to June, she remains in this toxic marriage, because she is unable to financially provide for her son, whom she loves dearly. She is now looking for employment opportunities, and attends regular counselling to stay focused on recovery.
*June is not receiving social assistance.
