Mr Ma came to Singapore in 2013 to work as a general construction worker, earning a salary of $2,000 every month. While carrying a bucket of tools down a narrow staircase on February 7th 2021, he fell down the stairs and suffered from knee, neck injury and a fractured finger. 

Due to his injuries, he is now jobless and has to borrow money from his peers to cover his living expenses. 

Ray of Hope is raising $2,880 ($480 x 6 months) to help Mr Ma with his and his family’s living expenses while he recovers.

47-year-old Mr Ma was supporting his family of 4 in China financially. His wife is a homemaker while his youngest daughter is still in school. The family was heavily reliant on Mr Ma for their everyday expenses. As a Construction Worker, he was earning approximately $2,000 every month. His two oldest sons are currently working to help supplement the family’s household income since the accident. 

On 7 February 2021, Mr Ma was carrying a bucket of tools down a narrow staircase when he missed a step and fell from a height of 2 meters. As a result of his fall, Mr Ma suffered from knee and neck injury and a fractured finger. After his employer had fully paid his MC wages in January 2022, Mr Ma had no other alternative but to borrow money from his peers to cover his living expenses in Singapore every month.

As Mr Ma is unable to do any heavy lifting, it affects his daily living and his employment situation. He is currently unemployed as he waits for MOM’s investigation to conclude and needs help with his own and his family’s living expenses.
