Mdm Asiah is 72 years old and is dependent on a wheelchair to get around. She suffers from chronic kidney disease, diabetes and osteoporosis among many other medical conditions. Mdm Asiah’s condition has worsened and her Occupational Therapist has recommended that she purchases a motorised wheelchair to get about her day. However, Mdm Asiah is unable to fork out the money urgently as she does not have much savings.
Ray of Hope would like to raise $1,499 to purchase a new motorised wheelchair for Mdm Asiah.Â
72-years-old Mdm Asiah lives alone with little to no family support. Going into her golden years, she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, diabetes and osteoporosis among many others. When our case worker first met Mdm Asiah, she was homeless and was taking shelter at the void decks. Fortunately in June, she was able to secure a rental flat that she can call home.Â
Recently, Mdm Asiah was hospitalised and her Occupational Therapist recommended that she require a motorised wheelchair in view of her underlying health condition. Mdm Asiah was not able to receive any subsidies to purchase a motorised wheelchair as she had tapped on her Seniors’ Mobility and Enabling Fund to purchase a manual wheelchair previously.Â
As the motorised wheelchair would help Mdm Asiah to get around the community, any form of aid to help her purchase the motorised wheelchair would be greatly appreciated.
*Mdm Asiah is receiving financial aid from other organisations.
