Ray of Hope is raising $3,600 ($600 x 6 months) to help Mdm Fatimah with her groceries for 6 months.

Mdm Fatimah, 41, lives with her three children in a 2-room rental flat. Her children are 15, 14 and 12. She has two other children, from previous relationships, who do not stay with her.

To support her 3 school-going children, Fatimah started selling accessories through live streaming. She did this for a year in 2020 and earned between $1,500 to $2,000 a month. Unfortunately, she was unable to continue after she was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease in January this year. She also suffers from major depression and anxiety with panic attacks.

Mdm Fatimah’s teenage son was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and attends a special needs school. Her youngest son also suffers from polycystic kidney disease and is on a yearly follow-up at the hospital for his condition.

Daily life is emotionally strenuous for Mdm Fatimah. She is in the process of filing for divorce from her husband who left the family a year ago. Mdm Fatimah does not have any children from her current marriage, and does not receive maintenance for her children from her previous marriages.

Despite the trying times, Mdm Fatimah completed a WSQ Diploma in Service Leadership and People Management in 2019, with the hope of seeking better employment opportunities when she recovers.
