60-year-old Mr Misadi lives in a one-room rental flat. After the passing of his wife many years ago, he has been living alone for much of the time since. He shared that his two children have their own family and are struggling to provide for their own family as well. Hence, he is receiving little to no financial support from them.Â
Mr Misadi suffers from kidney disease and relies on dialysis thrice a week to manage his chronic condition. He is also scheduled to undergo angioplasty operation on 13 June to open his narrowed blood vessels which is crucial in ensuring his dialysis sessions are effective. Due to the severe side effects and discomfort after his dialysis sessions, Mr Misadi was permanently certified unfit for employment.
As Mr Misadi is unable to work, his savings have depleted and he struggles to put food on the table. On top of financial difficulties, he is faced with crippling loneliness as he does not have much family support. Despite these ongoing battles, Mr Misadi believes in taking one day at a time.
