Ray of Hope is raising $1,980 ($330 x 6 months) to help Miah Farooq with his living expenses.

Miah Farooq arrived in Singapore in 2019 to support his elderly parents, wife and two children back home in Bangladesh. The 44 year-old was a general worker, earning between $900 to $1,100 a month. Every month he would remit the bulk of his earnings home.

Tragedy struck on 19th November 2021, while Farooq was moving 80kg formworks at the construction site. On the fifth trip, Farooq’s back snapped. He collapsed onto the floor and could not stand on his own. The Safety Supervisor gave Farooq some medication for the pain and told him to rest. However, Farooq was unable to get out of bed the next morning and lay in bed for the next three days. His company did not do anything about his injury so Farooq made his own way to the hospital. He did an X-Ray and his MRI is scheduled on 5th August.
