Mr Abdullah, 60, lives alone. He is estranged from his only daughter who lives in Malaysia. Mr Abdullah’s wife passed away over twenty years ago.
In October 2017, Mr Abdullah was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease and requires dialysis thrice a week. He suffers from heart issues and high cholesterol. He is diabetic, which affects his vision, and the toes on his left foot were amputated, because of the condition. Mr Abdullah is fully dependent on a motorised wheelchair for mobility.
Being permanently unfit for work, Mr Abdullah relies on monthly payouts from his CPF Retirement Account to cover his living expenses. He does not receive any social assistance, apart from the subsidies for his dialysis sessions. He is also ineligible for the Silver Support Scheme, as he is below 65 years old.
Recently, Mr Abdullah lost his personal belongings, including his wallet, NRIC and ez-link card. He now has issues applying for financial assistance due to the lack of his identification documents.
