Ray of Hope is raising $1,800 ($450 x 4 months) to support Biswas and his family while he waits for MOM’s investigation to conclude.
On 5th June 2021, Biswas was carrying a heavy piece of metal at work. He sustained a work injury when the piece of metal fell on his foot, puncturing through his safety boots and injured his toe. Biswas was immediately brought to the hospital to receive further treatment. A month after his injury, Biswas had to undergo surgery to insert a metal rod in his toe. Since the surgery, he has not been able to bend his toe. Â
Biswas was earning an average monthly salary of $665 prior to the accident. He would remit most of that sum to his family. It has been almost a year since the accident and Biswas’s case with the Ministry of Manpower is pending.
Biswas still suffers pain in his foot and is eager to recover so that he can resume working to support his family. In the meantime, he is in great distress as he has not been able to send money to his family.
