Since October 2021, SG Assist’s Care Connect has been involved in making calls to COVID+ patients, supporting their social needs by matching volunteers and community partners in order to reduce the impact of COVID in their lives. We frequently pick up cases with situations where the patients are starving for days or not knowing how to do self test as they’re isolated with no family support. SG Assist will then immediately connect the individuals to charities that can provide food or rations to them, but it takes at least 3-5 working days to process. Therefore, we’ve started to urgent food provisioning by getting volunteers to get food/groceries and deliver to the beneficiary’s home immediately. There are also situations where single parent families or seniors lost their jobs due to COVID, where we also fundraise to provide them with diapers and milk powder for their child/children.

The funds from this campaign will go towards providing an interim supply of food, groceries or ART kits to patients with no family support within a 6-month period.
