Mdm Nora is the main caregiver of her 7 children and Mother in Law. She used to work as an assistant librarian but had to leave her job when her mother passed away and became the main caregiver to her 7 children. She currently does home-based cooking but has not received many orders lately.

Mdm Nora’s husband works in a warehouse and earns $1464/month, but this is not enough for the family. Her husband and her are also struggling with bad debt and part of their income is used to pay the debt off.

Four of their children are attending primary school with their fees covered by the Financial Assistance Scheme. Their 3 younger children are in childcare and are still using diapers and milk powder.

Mdm Nora’s mother in law, who also lives with her, is currently suffering from kidney issues and has to attend dialysis 3 times a week. Her medical fees are fully subsidised. She also requires the use of adult diapers.
