Why Are We Raising Funds?
Lunar New Year is a time to celebrate joyous and festive reunions with family and friends. While we are blessed to be able to share this time with our loved ones in Singapore, we also feel for migrant workers who have been especially affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and remain separated from their loved ones.
Throughout the pandemic, we have been following IRR’s work on social media and are touched by their dedication and sincerity towards helping migrant workers. ItsRainingRaincoats (IRR) is an initiative that strives to improve their lives in Singapore through impactful programmes aiming to foster a sense of community and provide for their well-being through tutoring, events, excursions and more. Their work has been instrumental to migrant workers who need daily living assistance.
This Chinese New Year, we’re proud to raise funds to support IRR and its causes. For every Huat (发), Heng (兴) & Ong (旺) Gift Set purchase from our CNY 2022 catalogue, 10% of the gross proceeds will be donated to IRR to support our migrant brothers and sisters.
How Funds will be Raised & Used
By 6 February 2022, we hope to raise $5,000 with our gross proceeds. All proceeds of this fundraiser will be received by Ray of Hope to be paid out IRR for their various initiatives to better the lives of migrant workers.
About Ray of Hope
100% of your donations through Ray of Hope go to people in need. We do not take a cut from the funds. We even cover 3rd party credit card charges, if you choose not to, that other crowdfunding platforms deduct from your donation for campaigns.
100% of all campaigns are also fully verified, so you know your funds goes to real people with real needs.
We take donor accountability very seriously – with yearly audited accounts and strong governance in place to ensure that your donations is properly channeled to the beneficiaries.
