Ray of Hope is raising $1,800 ($450 x 4 months) to help Mr Zulkiffli with his grocery expenses. This will provide a financial buffer while the family awaits the outcome of their application to renew their social assistance. 

57-year-old Mr Zulkiffli lives in a two-room rental flat with his wife and six children. The 57-year-old struggles to care for the children due to his ailing health. The three older children are from his wife’s previous marriage.

Mr Zulkiffli suffers from multiple health issues including diabetes, cholesterol and fibromyalgia, a condition that causes widespread pain in his body. As a result, he is certified permanently unfit for employment.Over the years, the family has relied on social assistance to make ends meet. Mr Zulkiffli’s wife is his main caregiver and also cares for their children (13, 11, 10, 7, 4 and 20 months old baby).

*Mr Zulkiffli is receiving social assistance, which ends next month (January 2022).
