What Giving Circle is

Donate to a cause or support a group of people, e.g., Special Needs Giving Circle. Beneficiaries who are unable to raise enough from their campaigns get support from related Giving Circles.

Giving circles are a source of pooled funds where donors who can’t decide which beneficiary to donate to, can give to this pooled fund.

Funds will be used to help beneficiaries who fit the GCs category. Be it topping up of funds, using the funds to but groceries, for emergency use.

A recurring donation to a GC will give us some certainty to support beneficiaries with longer term needs who come through our door. While most of our beneficiaries need short term support, there may be some who need longer term help. Elderly – Single parents who are stuck in an abusive relationship and need time for their situation to stablise before there is light at the end of the tunnel. These can range from 12 to 24 months of help. A normal crowdfunding campaign may not suffice since those are usually 6 months.

What is a Giving Circle?

A Giving Circle is a pooled fund created to meet the needs of a specific group of people or for a specific need. Other Ray of Hope Giving Circles are for Migrant Workers, Single Parents, the Elderly, Persons with Special Needs, the Homeless.

Where an individual campaign falls short of its crowdfunding goal, funds from the relevant Giving Circle are used to support the campaign. To ensure fairness, the specific amount is determined by Ray of Hope’s internal guidelines for each Giving Circle.

When is a Giving Circle created?

A Giving Circle may be created when Ray of Hope identifies a need in the community, or if we have a donor that would like to champion a cause and start one. Feel free to reach out to us if this is you!

How will these funds be utilised?

100% of all donations will go to the beneficiaries.

All our beneficiaries have been assessed by our caseworkers. Our stringent verification process includes relevant checks with government authorities and verified documents provided by the families to ensure that your donations are going to those who really need the financial assistance.

As a donor to this Giving Circle, you will receive e-mail updates about how the funds are utilised.
